Lead System Architect



Job Purpose:

Defines the scope and functionality of Pegasystems solutions against an internally sourced business need and delivers the appropriate application to internal customers via hands-on product configuration.

Prepare and recommend workflow designs for basic application functionality and integration with other related verticals. Provide ongoing support services to internal customers ensuring continuing business benefit and optimal use of system.

Key Result Areas:

  • Actively participate in the requirements, design and build phases; delivering high quality deliverables.
  • Responsible for functional success of customer initiatives providing necessary attention to our administrative processes procedures.
  • Supports all aspects of our application initiatives from project scope definition through requirements analysis, functional and technical architecture, design, product configuration, QA, UAT and production deployment within a Project Management framework to ensure delivery of the requested functionality.
  • Have an advanced understanding of the main features of PRPC; their features and limitations. Facilitate knowledge transfer of PRPC functionality and application functionality
  • Investigates reported software problems, conducts tests to isolate problems and root cause in order to prepare clear Incident Reports for further investigation by Product Operations.
  • Conducts further diagnosis and tests as necessary to assist with problem resolution investigating and implementing workarounds where appropriate.
  • Customer Success (realization of business benefit)
  • Teams/supervises applications staff members in order to ensure consistency and the appropriate level of synergy among related workflows.
  • Proactively develops customer relationships by listening, understanding and anticipating needs, and suggesting appropriate solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous alignment with the customer’s business needs.
  • Other responsibilities and key results areas required or assigned.
Functional Expertise:
  • JavaScript and HTML,XML.
  • Java, SOA/Web Services, Component Architecture
  • Relational Database design; SQL development and stored procedures, Software Development experience, Interface development experience.
  • Establish and advocate use of IT Standards, Protocols and processes
  • Makes and keeps commitments; meets schedules and deadlines and completes assignments, projects and goals within the allotted timeframe and budget.
  • Understands the linkages between the company’s mission and their specific contribution.
  • Assimilates and applies new job-related information that has varying degrees of complexity.
  • Develops new insights into situations and applies creative and innovative solutions to make application improvements and satisfy desired results.
  • Proper documentation and transfer of knowledge to ensure repeatability and scalability
  • Possesses the appropriate level of technical/functional expertise and knowledge.
  • Understands and applies procedures, regulations and policies related to areas of specialized expertise such as OO design, UML and design patterns.
  • Customer service orientation and good communication skills
  • Results oriented
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes a plus
  • PRPC application knowledge/experience is considered a plus

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum Level of Education: BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
  • Type of Experience and Minimum Number of Years: 8-10 years experience in delivery of Business Solutions, Business Analysis, ERP or Software Development.
  • Experience in analysis, design, development, and application deployment of large scale Java centric enterprise application systems.
  • Experience in J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, XML, Java), Oracle and/or DB2 and MS/SQL
  • Experience with Websphere, Weblogic Application Server, JBoss or Tomcat
  • Strong OO experience
  • PRPC Certification (within 6 months of joining Pega)
